No time to sleep?

This was the soundtrack of the last construction days.
Not only because we were building full speed (because we know rain is about to come again), but because there are other things to do and the days are short! At least it's our experience. There is the movement of going with the temptation of being stressed with so many things to do before the rain, but we see it as a big opportunity to just surrender to what wants to happen. And we are relaxed when we surrender. We don't suffer because we are not fighting, we are just being. Being in action and being without doing anything.
And like this we had a lot of fun, not only by ourselves, but with friends as well.
Just have a look at the pictures and see how the house is now.

We started to have breakfast in the house! It's like having breakfast outside, since we only have the frame! It's sunny, fun and very relaxing.

The structure for the bedroom loft is done! How amazing is this?

We created some temporary steps so we can enter in the house to work:

These boards are drying so we can test some treatments and see what is the best choice for it:

Adam testing the strength of the loft. It was approved!

David and Adam planning how to put the membrane around the wall frame:

They started to put the membrane  in one of the walls: small kitchen wall.

It was not an easy job, because on this day the wind was very strong, so we had to play with it: make the most out of it when the wind stopped blowing!

A deserved pause for lunch cooked in our solar oven and a view of the morning work (on the top of the membrane we screwed some eucalyptus wood baterns which are necessary to fix the membrane better - although we stapled it before to the frame) and to be the support for the wood that we are going to put on the exterior of the walls.

And then more help came in the afternoon! Katja joined us and Miguel as well! Well, he decided to build his own house, so me and David supported him on that. You are going to see the result at the end!

Ricardo joined us and he became the photographer:

Dinner started do be cooked by David and Miguel: a little fire with the typical Portuguese iron pot. We ate "Feijoada".

Ricardo helped us with some drilling:

More work:

Us looking at a small detail: putting the wood on top of the membrane at the end of the trailer, because the level was no the same we saw that it was not working well and in the same way as the others. So David found a solution: he just cut a little bit of the floor wood to create a small space for the eucalyptus wood to fit.

Then it was time to move the scaffolding to the other wall:

Katja trying out the entrance door to be:

Dinner still cooking!

More membrane into place; this time on the bathroom wall:

 Almost full moon!

Yes, this is an evolutionary relationship!

Miguel house is finished!

David tried out the wood on the wall to see how it looks:

The team for today: a happy one! Even without sleeping that much!

With love,
David&Raquel
