New plants?

Well,  or new plants but new pots!

The coffee cup got broken, so it’s perfect to make it as a pot in the kitchen and the other one just came out of the mother, from the bedroom, so I’m putting it in water to create roots and then put it in a pot to offer to a friend.

Blessed curtains

Yes, I know I have been talking a lot about curtains, but in all extreme sunny days I can’t not be grateful for all the curtains in our house!

It makes such a difference!

David’s birthday

For David’s birthday and and to respond to his coffee passion, I decided to stitch a coffee cup with a Portuguese popular word. You just ask for a cafézinho when in a coffee shop!

It’s another add in the kitchen area, but still not in the final place!

I loved making this surprise for him.

Being tiny in a tiny house just for fun

 Having a funny breakfast!

Cups in place - proper tea and coffee are on the way!

You know when you are in love with some details of some other houses?

Or a dream that you always has since you imagined owning a house?

Well, since always I wanted cups hanging from a shelf. Really! Simple but very much in tune with old traditional Portuguese kitchen cabinets. Since they would be to big to have them here in the Tiny House, we managed to make a dream coming true but slightly different!

I went to the local hardware shop Supermaco (contacts in the contact folder of this website) and bought the hooks (we call the, “camarões” in Portuguese. They only had silver. No problem! 0,10€ each. David painted the, with black spray paint and here they are:

After this, the simple and not so hard work of attaching them to the shelf and to the coffee box.

Oh, I’m in love more and more with our kitchen! With time we can see what works and what doesn’t and we can make the changes needed. So, here it is.
Our new tea and coffee setting.
Ready to go and to enjoy by ourselves and with friends and family a proper tea and a proper coffee.

Art in the kitchen

A small detail that makes such a difference!

This is a postcard from a painting done by Beth Richardson.

A tea moment in the kitchen, in blue, like the kitchen.

Love it!

Kitchen area

There was one thing missing all this time in the kitchen: the finishing metal piece at the end of the wood set!

Here it is!

Exciting decluttering day

We woke up today with decluttering mode!
Boy, did we work hard!

As you know, our bathroom has not been made yet, so it has been a storage laundry area. Well, that is not happening anymore! We cleared the space, cleaned and organized it so well! We even found spider nests in the window seals - no good joojoo!

And David worked on an extra shelf in the kitchen - so necessary!

More storage and new curtains

 ... in the kitchen.

We reused the old ladder from the Bus where we used to live and finally put it up on the kitchen ceiling.

Perfect to hang pots and plants.

And, after having curtain rails, the curtains are up!

Using the old fabrics from my grandmothers kitchen and a bed sheet that was offered to us on our wedding.

A bit of today and some pictures of other days

It has been a pleasure to live and to work in the house.

It is so big, at least for me, as we have been living in very tiny places together. So, just the fact that I can lay the yoga mat on the floor and have space to do all the poses it's quite something! And of of these days, I even had the company of litle I., in her small mat.

Curtains on the making today. These were taken few weeks before: measurements for the curtains and the first picture I sent it to David so he could brainstorm with me - long or short curtain?

Lunch time was like this before, small table for me and friends:

But now, the game changed! AH! We can actually eat at the table! Amazing Glen, the carpenter, a friend of ours made it.

Did I say already that Lara and Missanga have been enjoying the Tiny House so much? right at this moment, they are here, on the sofa with me, fighting some flys, but enjoyinh the sun.

And I continue to watch our natural TV:

Do you remember the wine boxes that I showed you yesterday? Well, with one of them I made something to surprise David, since he is in India and coming back next week. Because he loves coffee, we talked about creating a small coffee "altar" or special place. And I did it! With some mistakes in the midle, like putting the box up instead of lying down! I got completely disctracted I guess! I was taking care of I. on that day, maybe that's why :-). But, no problem at all, as I could put it the other way around. The thing is that I have to small holes on the wall. What to do with them? Is there something that we can cover them with, like a paste?

These pots were giving to me by a couple of dear friends, Lotte and Floris. The pots are made in Portugal and I am planning on doing some macramé hanger to put them in the living room area, next to the green lamps. Stay tuned!

I went to Tábua, to Supermaco, to buy some metal pieces so I can put the curtains in place. As you can see, the original color was golden, but, with the paint that I used in the bedroom mandala, I painted them, so everything matches! It looks perfect and they are on the walls already.

I started the day today by painting whit white spray the old steps from the BUS:

That's it for today. Hope today I can finish the curtains and I'll show you then what I used for the curtain rails.

Wish you all a lovelly day.
